ONE FROM THE COLLECTION: "Deep Eyed"

As we've mentioned before, photographs are there to make you feel things, and to engage with subjects. The first thing you have to do when taking a photo, is thinking about what exactly is your subject, and why or how it can be made emotive. My tip for today is simple. If you're taking a picture of a person, or an animal, and the subject is them (rather than something they own, something they're wearing, something particular about them, or something else in the photo), always aim to have your focus point on their eyes. Most emotion between living beings is transferred through the eyes, and by focussing on them, you will help your audience engage with your subject.

The photos below are of a very playful cat I found in Vittorio Veneto, Italy.
